We are thrilled to announce that we're launching new tours in the gastronomically rich region of Burgundy. We're planning these culinary and cultural tours with relatives who live there, know the region well, and are serious foodies!
Our first tour, a private tour for a group of friends, will take place in September 2021. If you have a group of 6-8 friends who would like to explore Burgundy with us in the spring or fall of 2022, let us know.
These tours will be quite active with lots of walking, some biking, and possibly a hike. Instead of staying a hotel, we will rent a villa close to Beaune, one of the most beautiful, historic, and legendary towns, in the heart of Burgundy.
Guests would fly into Paris and take the fast train (TGV) to Dijon. We would pick you up in Dijon and then drive to Beaune, where we'd hunker down for the week.
From Beaune, we will enjoy daily excursions - some off-the-beaten-track culinary touring and also some cultural sightseeing in Dijon, Vezelay, Pommard, and more - with local guides.
We will also:
Dine at a Michelin-starred restaurant as well as several outstanding local favorites.
Attend 1-2 cooking and/or baking classes taught by local chefs, possibly at the house
Explore on bike at least 1-2 days or half days, depending on interest
Venture onto local trails with a moderate hike of 2-3 hours
Shop at local farmers markets
Visit 2-3 local wineries to learn about the region's celebrated winemaking production
Enjoy plenty of downtime to explore our town or just kick back at home
Tour would include:
Accommodations for 7 nights
All breakfasts at the house (bread, croissants, eggs, fruit, coffee, etc. provided for serve-/cook-yourself-style breakfasts)
Wine at meals and provided at the house for downtime and l’Apero
Daily excursions and tours with local guides
Transfer from Dijon train station.
Transportation during the week
Tour would not include:
Train (TGV) from Paris to Dijon - guests could take train directly to Dijon, and we would pick them up there, and then drive to Beaune, about a half-hour drive.
Any activity or snacks/drinks enjoyed separately from the group
Cost: $3,400 double, $3,900 single - as long as singles are available. (The house has limited single rooms, so they would be booked on a first-come, first-served basis.)
NOTE: If the group would prefer a hotel, we will book rooms at a hotel close to or in the center of Beaune. The overall trip cost will likely be higher to reflect the price difference.
