Meaning “a little of this, a little of that” in french, "Meli Melo" is apropos, as Jennifer hosts small-group tours that feature outstanding local foods and wines as well as wellness befitting the location. Between tastings, for example, we might bike beside vineyards or olive groves, hike up to a breathtaking view, do yoga on the beach, or just enjoy a leisurely stroll around a medieval village.
Next spring, we are heading back to the sun-drenched South of France. We will stay in the picturesque village of St. Remy and from there, shop at farmer's markets, visit wineries, an olive oil mill, a goat-cheese farm, learn to play Boules, hike in the Alpilles, enjoy a boat tour along the Mediterranean coast, and more. April 30 to May 8 - based in Saint-Remy-de-Provence and Montpellier
May 9 to 17 - based in Saint-Remy-de-Provence and featuring daily yoga
Meli Melo also hosts or consults for tours in other regions of France - Languedoc Roussillon and Burgundy, in the Azores - Sao Miguel Island, and in Mexico - Queretaro and San Miguel de Allende. Closer to home, we also offer short culinary trips to the Berkshires. For details, see "Tours" above.
Every Meli Melo tour includes shopping at local markets, sometimes with a resident chef. These markets are often the heart of village life, and they are not only a place to purchase regional foods and artisanal products, but also to observe and participate in an important daily ritual.
With such beautiful, fresh ingredients so readily available, we will, no doubt, feel compelled to don our aprons and get into the kitchen. Many Meli Melo tours will include a cooking class or two - and hopefully inspire guests to recreate the recipes back home!
Meli Melo guests will stay at the finest accommodations in each location, boutique hotels with modern amenities, superior service, character that reflects its environs and often, a restaurant with standout authentic cuisine. Shown here is our charming hotel in Provence with a garden we won't want to leave!
