If food, wine, and wellness appeal to you, you'll love our thoughtfully curated, small-group tours. Meli Melo Travel typically hosts only 6 to 10 guests at a time, and we love to work with local professionals - guides, cooking teachers, drivers, and more, providing our guests an intimate and uniquely authentic, hyper-local travel experience. Meaning “a little of this, a little of that” in French, "Meli Melo" tours feature total immersion in a foreign culture - its food, wine, art, and history. We limit time spent sitting in a van and prefer to keep moving - we might hike up to a breathtaking view, take a yoga class in french, e-bike thorugh vineyards, or enjoy a sunset stroll amid olive trees once painted by Van Gogh.
We are now fully booked for our culinary and cultural tours in France next spring, and our fall tours are filling up fast.
But it's not too early to inquire about a "Taste of Burgundy" or "Joie de Vivre" tour in Provence for the spring or fall of 2024. In these stunningly picturesque, gastronomically rich regions, we will shop at outdoor markets, visit wineries, observe cheesemakers, cook local specialties alongside a French chef, and generally enjoy the joie de vivre for which France is celebrated.
Our tours typically include extensive walking each day. Depending on interests of the group, we could also spend our days hiking, biking, playing tennis or pickleball.
All tours feature experienced local guides, a fun and informative cooking class, and guaranteed laughs.

We also offer travel-planning services for those of you who might like help plotting out your own vacation. We will gladly provide references from clients for whom we have designed itineraries and booked hotels, restaurants and local guides for their vacations in France and Portugal.
Every Meli Melo tour includes shopping at outdoor farmer's markets. These markets are often the heart of village life, and they are not only a place to purchase regional foods and artisanal products, but also to observe and participate in an important and enormously satisfying daily ritual.
With such beautiful, fresh ingredients so readily available, we will, no doubt, feel compelled to don our aprons and get into the kitchen. Many Meli Melo tours typically include a cooking or baking class that inspires guests to recreate the recipes back home!
Meli Melo Travel guests stay at the finest accommodations in each location - boutique hotels with modern amenities, superior service, character that reflects its environs, and a restaurant with standout cuisine made with fresh, local, seasonal ingredients. Or we might rent a villa for our groups, where we can relax among friends, enjoy daily breakfasts and host a local chef to cook for us right at home.
